Rep. Mullin’s statement on Republicans’ stand-alone military aid package

Today I joined the Biden Administration and our House Democratic Leadership in opposing House Republicans’ stand-alone military aid package. This disingenuous bill denies desperately needed humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza, neglects much needed aid for Ukraine, and does nothing to address the challenges within our immigration system.

It’s yet another cynical political stunt that won’t become law. This is the same Republican-led House that refuses to engage on the bipartisan national security legislation currently in the Senate.  Extreme Republicans are once again bowing to their puppet master, Donald Trump, who wants to use the challenges at the border as a campaign issue instead of finding workable solutions. I agree with the position of our House Democratic Leadership that we are prepared to support serious, bipartisan efforts in connection with the special relationship between the U.S. and Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East. I support comprehensive, thoughtful efforts to secure lasting peace and security in the Middle East, defeating Putin’s offensive in Ukraine, and establishing humane reform of our immigration and border policies.
