In response to contract negotiations for air traffic control at the San Carlos Airport, Rep. Kevin Mullin released the following statement:
“Airline travelers across the country rely on air traffic controllers to keep them safe. This is a highly-skilled, specialty job that the FAA is responsible for staffing, even if they contract out.
It is well known that the San Francisco Bay Area has a high cost of living, and federal agencies need to account for regional differences when evaluating how to establish contracts for critical services. Safety continues to be my top priority, and I am pleased to learn that contract negotiations have moved in a positive direction and a resolution is forthcoming.
My office has been in contact with the San Carlos Airport and will continue to be a collaborative partner with the Airport and the FAA to help ensure that this situation is resolved,” said Rep. Kevin Mullin.
