“We need peace and calm in Los Angeles, but instead President Trump’s actions have only escalated and inflamed tensions by design. Now, the President is preparing to mobilize active duty marines on U.S. soil. Trump is putting innocent civilians and our own troops at risk by manufacturing further chaos.  

Today, the President said he would arrest an American governor just for speaking out. Everyone has a foundational, Constitutional right to freedom of speech and Trump insults all Americans by trying to silence those who disagree with him. This is straight out of an authoritarian playbook and a gross abuse of Presidential power.

To my fellow Californians – remain peaceful, know your rights, and work as a community to protect each other by de-escalating the situation.”
