The President of the United States has zero role to play in election administration – NONE. Trump and his extremist Republicans who peddle fake and repeatedly disproven claims about the integrity of our elections systems have one goal in mind: Silence the millions of Americans who disagree with their disastrous policies. 

Reports that Trump is drafting an executive order to attempt to nationalize elections are further evidence that he’s a wannabe dictator who is ignoring the U.S. Constitution. 

Trump believes the only elections that are valid are the ones he and his party win. Republicans are terrified of losing power because they know their policies have been wildly unpopular as they take away health care from the low-income families, impose new taxes through unlawful tariffs, kill people on our streets, and inhumanely arrest and detain both adults and children in detention centers. It is no wonder President Trump is afraid of free and fair elections. 

While I have utmost faith in our state and local officials to carry out their duty in holding elections as normal, I will continue to tirelessly to stand up with my colleagues to these un-American voter suppression tactics.
