“Today, I voted NO on the Republicans’ disastrous government funding proposal. 

Democrats came to the negotiation table with a clear, bipartisan plan that would lower prices for working families and ensure health care premiums don’t rise. But Speaker Johnson and Republicans didn’t listen. They created a partisan, extreme spending bill that only serves billionaires and further empowers Trump. 

This extreme spending bill would send us deeper into the health care crisis that Donald Trump created earlier this year. Hardworking Americans are already experiencing an affordability crisis due to the Big Ugly Budget Bill. Now, Congressional Republicans want to raise health care costs even more, and continue to put millions at risk of losing their health care altogether. 

By refusing to work with Democrats, Republicans have put us on the brink of a cataclysmic government shutdown. This is compounded by Trump’s irresponsible tariffs and economic policies.

Republicans control both chambers of Congress and the White House. If the government shuts down, they own the impact this will have on everyday Americans.”
