President Trump’s threat to Iran that “a whole civilization will die tonight” is insanity, and calls into serious question his competence and fitness to serve as president. 

Trump has made it clear he doesn’t care about the staggering costs of the war, which has claimed the lives of U.S. service members and thousands of civilians, further destabilized the Middle East, and plunged global economies into chaos.

Congress must unite immediately to end this war. The Constitution is clear: the power to declare war rests with Congress, and it is time for House Republicans to join Democrats in stopping this madness. The American people deserve stability, restraint, and leadership that prioritizes their security and well-being.

I fully support any legal and constitutional means to protect our country from Trump’s clearly unhinged behavior and remove him from office, including impeachment or invoking the 25th Amendment. Yet I am also realistic that Republicans currently control Congress, and to truly be a check on Trump we need Democrats to take back the House in 2026.
