Pelosi, Mullin Announce SFO to Receive $31 Million From President Biden’s Infrastructure Law

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (CA-11) and Congressman Kevin Mullin (CA-15) announced that San Francisco International Airport (SFO) will soon receive $31 million from the Federal Aviation Administration for fiscal year 2024 under President Joe Biden’s historic Infrastructure Law.  The airport plans to use this new federal investment toward improving the traveler experience by replacing outdated, failing systems that control temperature, humidity and air quality at the International Terminal.

“President Joe Biden’s Infrastructure Law is continuing to deliver vital funding for San Francisco International Airport to remain a world-class gateway for commerce, travel and tourism in the Bay Area,” Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi said.  “With this $31 million in new federal funding, SFO will make crucial upgrades to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system in the International Terminal that will improve the travel experience, reduce energy use and lower maintenance costs.  Thanks to the leadership of President Biden and our Bay Area Congressional Delegation, this federal investment will create good-paying, union jobs for Bay Area residents and help ensure SFO continues to deliver first-rate air travel for generations to come.”

“SFO is one of our nation’s premier international airports with over 50 million passengers traveling through it last year alone. Thanks to our historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this $31 million grant marks a substantial commitment in improving the energy efficiency and resiliency of the International Terminal at the Bay Area’s busiest airport. Whether you’re coming home or planning to travel across the globe, this investment in our infrastructure and economy will help ensure SFO continues to be a world-class destination,” Congressman Kevin Mullin said.
